knitting news

this week has been mostly about knitting.
and mostly hats. Three so far.

hats and cats.
this one is helping me wind a centre pull ball.
he really is....

note to self. egg shaped balls are fine.... no you don't need to buy a yarn winder.....

waiting impatiently for postie to bring new circular needle provides ample time to mess about with knitting trying to photograph stylishly, or making Harry Potter symbols.

cat two, and hat two.
cat in the hat.

please excuse me, I'm off to cast on hat four......

  3. What a helpful fellow to have around. :) He looks very jaunty in "his" hat. I usually make funny-shaped yarn balls too. Sometimes I think my yarn-winder would laugh at my ineptness if it could.

  4. Love how you have the yarn on your footstool, clever idea. I struggle to get someone willing to hold it for me. No yarn winder here either. Maybe one day. Gorgeous hat, very nicely done. And beautifully modelled too if I may say so. CJ xx

  5. I'm having a bit of a hat phase too at the moment. I love your method of winding the yarn - if only I'd thought of that before getting myself in an almighty tangle last week! Love the model too. xx

  6. Funnily enough I was in the process of trying to add a quite video of my woolwinder and knitting when I decided to do a bit of blog-catchup! I suspect I won't be able to persuade blogger to allow me to add the video - sigh. Excellent hat to cat ratio! I am determined to finish a lot of wips in time for chrimbly pressies - but I excel in procrastination ... !

  7. Ok ... I admit I'm slow. I totally didn't see that Cat in the Hat coming, but, in hindsight ... it was obvious LOL!!! (Very pretty hats btw -- cats too!)

  13. The cat in the hat looks very fetching in purple. You can't beat a woolly hat for warmth. Particularly handy to have around when your boiler decides to pack up! J :-(

  16. Hats and cats, is that a Dr Seuss thing? Never read them as a kid, it was all Enid Blyton and Ladybird books when I was small :)

Sorry to take ages catching up on your blog, taking me ages to catch up with having been away!
